day 2 - results

today i have achieved tremendous progress as a beginner, i wont give to much details on the topics that we discussed on this chapter today. i noticed that the topics that where discussed where increasingly difficult to understand and familiarize, but this is a good sign. it means that i have reached the limit of my current knowledge, and by overcoming and learning the new topics that was introduced.. my current knowledge is increased.

the part the i have finished can be found HERE, just in case i would like to review this chapter of the course

the topics that was discussed are:
-linear and relative layout
-match parent layout
-layout weight
-views alignment
-margins and padding difference

the topics that was kind of challenging was... padding and margin...and views aligntment

overall. everything was successfully understood..

day 2

i resume my study again this day.. on the course to android development, so far i understood the last lesson with ease, but i haven't memorized the codes though, just familiarized it. well anyway..
i made a summary of the codes that was discussed in the lesson so i may study it again.

let's see if i can still proceed with ease in the next chapter of the lesson. i haven't taken any peeks in the next lesson as i'm writing this... but i think they are going to discuss "buttons" as last lesson was all about image and text. well anyways... i'll get started. wish me luck.

Day 1 - results

hi, at this point i had finished Udacity Lesson 1A which is the 1st among the 9 total parts
of  "android development for beginners" segment.

the explanation was very very, wonderful and was easy enough to understand even with zero
baground on android development.

they focused on the important parts so i did not go astray and they also avoided showing stuff that confuse or dishearten a beginner.

so far they gave a little introduction on stuff that we see on our android devices..
they explained that the things that we see in our screen is divided into objects that they refer to as
"VIEWS" (see video below).

So far, from the views mentioned in the video(above), we have covered , TextView and ImageView
images below are the syntaxes that i might encounter a lot in the future, and needs to be familiarized.

Additional note: developer.android.com is a great place to search for new attributes and how to use it.
it can also be searched by googling for example: "textview android"

Day 1

Today, I begin my 1st blog entry as i dive headfirst into learning java from scratch. i am making this journal for future reference and as an inspiration and motivational support, because i know the path ahead is rough and i can be lead astray by many things such as distractions and my ability to easily lose focus and interest. by making this journal i hope to achieve a "checkpoint" or "reset point" of some sort, because at this moment, while i'm writing this. my current motivation level is at its peak, and by reading this, i only hope that my future lazy and astray self will obtain the same energy and motivation  level like i do now.

so enough of that and lets get started, i am on the verge of taking the course at udacity.com, android app essential course, that's not the exact title though, but that's how i see it. i am currently at THIS page. so for now, i will stop writing this blog post. and write a separate one, for the progress i have made so far, after the 1st topic. wish me luck :)
